Printing
Students are instructed to never print directly from the internet. Information should be copied and pasted into a word document and then printed. Students will be charged $.25 for each page printed in color.
Collection Development
Thoughtful input to improve resources and services are always welcome. Students and staff are encouraged to recommend books, periodicals, and other media for purchase.
The Media Advisory Committee plays an integral role in identifying and recommending resources, hardware, and other program enhancements.

Hours of Operation
- Monday through Thursday: 7:30 to 3:30
- Fridays: 7:30 to 3:00
- Early Release Days: 7:30 to 12:00 Noon
Circulation Policy
- Books may be checked out for a loan period of three weeks.
- A student may have no more than three books checked out at a time.
- Books may be renewed twice if there are no holds on them.
- At the request of teachers, reference books may be checked out for overnight use only.
- A fine of $.50 per day shall be imposed for returning reference materials late.
- Students are encouraged to not check out books for friends.
- Books checked out by a student are the responsibility of that student.
- Students are asked to return books as soon as they are finished with them.
- Overdue books must be returned and fines must be paid before students are permitted to check out additional books. However, books may be used inside the library.
- Lost books must be paid for before additional books can be checked out.
- Chromebooks, Flip cameras, digital cameras, camcorders, video data projectors, and DVDs may be checked out by teachers for students to use under their supervision.
- Food, drink, and candy are prohibited in the Media Center.
- Use a quiet voice while entering, working in, and exiting the Media Center.
- Present a teacher-signed pass and sign-in at the circulation desk upon entering the media center if you are unaccompanied by a teacher.
- Check out all materials before leaving the media center
- Return materials to the circulation desk or book depository by the due date.
- Always log-off the computer before leaving the media center.
- Do not share your password with friends or logon to computers using anyone's password other than your own, per FCS Acceptable Use Policy.
Passes
- Any student unaccompanied by a teacher or staff member must present his/her pass from the teacher in order to use the Media Center.
- Students without the proper pass/es will be instructed to return to class.
- Students must sign in at the circulation desk upon arrival and sign out when leaving.
- Passes are not required before school (7:45) or after school (2:45).
- Passes to use the media center are required during all lunch periods.
Computer/Internet Use
- An AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) signed by the student and parent indicating their understanding of the Franklin County Schools District policies and parent’s permission for students to access the internet must be on file at school.
- The AUP is effective for the current school year only. A new AUP must be signed each subsequent year.
- Students who violate the AUP risk revocation of their rights to use the school’s computers.
- Instant messaging, chat rooms, non-educational games, downloading, streaming, and emailing (except for special assignment-related circumstances) are prohibited.
- Computers should only be used for school-related assignments.
- Stiff penalties are imposed for tampering with the FHS network and/or violating the AUP.
